In the episode Barbara was the niece of a old man who was her uncle. For mostly 25 years she has lived with him to help care for him, doing things around the house and cooking his meals. Barbara never really liked helping her uncle. For he would always insult her, never give her a thank you and would always have the house closed off from the outside world. Also one of the big things that he would ask a lot is that she would get her a cup of Hot Chocolate. Barbara's hatred would group with each passing day, while waiting for the old man to finally die.
While arguing with Barbara on the stairs that led down to the basement where Uncle Simon's lab. He tried to hit her with his cane and Barbara grabbed it and took it from him causing him to lose his balance, fall down the stairs, breaking his back and dies, having Barbara thinking that she was finally free from his grasp.
But when she and other man looked through Uncle Simon's will, It showed that she was left the house and she can keep it as long as she cared for his latest invention. The invention was a robot that later became basically a robot version of Uncle Simon.
Uncle Simon was dead and was not able to treat her bad anymore. But Uncle Simon had made the robot basically to take over her torture for him. Barbara realized this when the robot started to ask for hot chocolate. And slowly the robots boring, non expressive voice turned into the voice of her torture, Uncle Simon.
What this story has showed me is that you can try to get rid of a problem with violence and/or to try to find a way to rid of it. But really mostly you can't get rid of it. But it would come back and haunt you and never leave you.
