With the Lonely Corry was given a robot that was made to look like a female. The robot's name was Alichea. She said that she could feel the same emotions and pain as a human can. At first Corry just pushes her away thinking that she was sent as a reminder that he is lonely on the isolated meteor that is where he is to stay as part of his prison.
But after a while (a year) he has learned to accept Alichea, ends up convincing himself that Alichea was human and ends up falling in love with Alichea. After a year of spending time with Alichea he was told that he was being released and can come back to earth. But he could only bring back 15 pounds of things. Alichea was much more than 15 pounds so she couldn't come with.
Corry refuses to leave without her and kept arguing about how she was indeed human. But they had to leave in a certain amount of time so the man that was going to bring him back to earth (Can't remember his name) shoots Alichea. Causing his to see her wires and prove to him that she was indeed a robot.
When Alichea was shot, it pained my heart. She was a robot but she was programmed to be able to feel pain and emotions like a normal human being. I feel that even though they don't have human flesh, or blood, if they have an understanding of the human emotions it should be wrong to kill or harm it.
But my question is why should we give robots human emotions? And if we do, should it be considered a crime to kill anything that can feel and express pain?
