With this episode we see how a robot is created and made to help take care of a family. The name that the robot was given was Grandma. Since the wife of the family died, the father was told that he had to do something to where the children would be living happily. So basically a womanly figure. All the nurses and house helpers wouldn't help at all so after finding an article in modern Science they decide to head down and create one.
When grandma finally came to live with them everyone was so happy and excited. For she could do many things and really helped out around the house. Everyone was accepting her, except the oldest child, named Ann. She kept saying how by having Granda that everyone was just having themselves live a lie, an illusion. Also that she will never accept Granda and that she hates, just like how she hates her mother.
The reason she hates her mother is because she went away -as in died. Grandma ends up saving Ann from a truck that almost runs her over. Instead of running over an, the truck ran over Grandma. But the truck didn't kill her. Grandma discovers that Ann was just afraid that everyone was going to leave her and that she would be all alone. So Grandma promises that as long at Ann was alive that she would never leave her and that she will never be alone.
In this story we see that the creation of a robot actually lead to something positive. We look a lot into what bad things could come out of creating robots that we sometimes forget to think about the positives. That robots can actually give the comfort and love that every human needs in their life. Which kinda gives a reason how we should because of this start to think of treating robots as if they are truly human.
